About The Fremont Players

Our Mission

To build an inclusive and respectful podium focused on the fun and social enhancement aspects of performing arts including workshops, classes, resources, performances, and skill-building.

Our Vision

We foresee a safe space for players of all ages to gather to have fun participating in the craft that they love; a place where the community can connect through creative storytelling, and where our younger citizens can develop and grow their talents for many years of performance excellence.

Our Purpose

To operate a community-centered theater organization, without profit to anyone, that is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Canon City, Florence, Penrose, and other surrounding areas in Southern Colorado which are incongruously served at the present time. We will accomplish this by stimulating, promoting, educating, and developing interest in the performing arts by creating avenues for social interaction while providing for the training and education of actors, directors and others involved in theater productions, and by providing an opportunity for artists to demonstrate and improve their skills by participating in various forms of theatrical productions.

We Are

  • Actors, writers, directors, and mentors in performing arts who enjoy sharing our craft both on and off the stage, and who desire to spread our knowledge for the enjoyment of young and old alike.

We Believe

  • By being respectful and inclusive of our fellow performers we can expand our knowledge base and strengthen our entertainment prowess.

  • Performance art can be challenged by stretching the boundaries of the traditional stage.

  • Young people have a special creative gift that should be fostered and shared.

We Exist

  • To create fun, relaxing, social environments with like-minded theater folk looking for community involvement.

  • To grow our youth into vibrant and knowledgeable performers and encourage them to continue that interest throughout their lives.

  • To offer many opportunities for the community to attend and participate in various theatrical productions, educational workshops, and impromptu social gatherings designed to nurture and encourage our mutual love for performing.
